Fluidkraft's Journey to ISO Certification

Fluidkraft, a leading independent hydraulic company based in Ingleburn, in southwest Sydney, recently achieved ISO certification for their Quality, Safety and Environmental management systems – and for them, it’s much more than just a certificate on the wall.

Founded and led by Chris Redondo, the company specialises in hydraulic cylinder manufacturing, equipment wholesaling, and on-site fitting services. With a dedicated team of 16 professionals and five mobile service vehicles, Fluidkraft serves clients across New South Wales and occasionally extends its services nationwide and overseas, even reaching locations such as Papua New Guinea and Fiji for specialised mining operations.

Since rebranding as Fluidkraft, the company has been keenly focused on expanding its engineering services. Achieving ISO certification became a key objective in this growth strategy, driven by the desire to operate at a high standard that reduces risk for clients and establishes a competitive edge. For Chris, this certification was essential for being taken seriously in Australia’s manufacturing sector.

The Role of Southpac Certifications

The ISO certification process can be a daunting task, but Southpac Certifications made it more manageable for Fluidkraft by providing a straightforward framework. Chris took a collaborative approach to the certification journey, delegating key responsibilities to his team members and trusting their abilities to handle various aspects of the process. This team-based approach ensured that the workload was spread effectively and that the company could achieve certification without overwhelming any single person.

Chris highlights, “The framework provided by Southpac was really easy to follow. I delegated parts of it that I knew the team could handle better than I could, and they ended up exceeding my expectations.”

Despite his concerns about the company’s readiness for certification, Chris pushed forward, understanding that it was necessary to take that first step. He personally handled the strategic elements of the process, focusing on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, while relying on his team to manage the operational tasks required for accreditation. This balanced approach allowed the company to progress smoothly through the certification process.

Benefits of Certification

This achievement marks a strong step forward in Fluidkraft’s growth and commitment to excellence. The company is well-positioned to expand its engineering services and maintain its reputation for delivering high-quality hydraulic solutions. As Fluidkraft continues to evolve, Chris remains focused on empowering his team and ensuring that the business operates at the highest standards.

"We knew that if we were going to be serious about manufacturing in this country, we had to meet a minimum standard—and that standard had to reduce the risk for our clients. It’s about ensuring that our clients are confident they’re dealing with a company that operates at a high standard."
