Southpac Certifications' Amy Mitchell has moved up into the role of Acting Director of Certification Services, as the Certification Body enters a new phase of growth.
Starting as a Graduate Auditor with Southpac Certifications six years ago, Amy's career path has seen her flourish, stepping up to the role of Certifications Manager and now Acting Director – where she will support Southpac's auditors and administrative team, manage compliance and accreditation, and ensure clients continue to benefit from our approach to Certification Differently.
With a growing client base across Australia and New Zealand, the team has also welcomed two new full-time staff Lead Auditors – Anita Helberg and Perla Chandler – and a third Certification Coordinator, Olivia Pickering.
Anita is an experienced ISO Lead Auditor with more than 15 years of experience in Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality management systems, specialising in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards. As well as being an external Lead Auditor, she has held a number of Quality, Compliance, and HSEQ roles in the mining and aviation industries, conducting system, internal and supplier audits as well as supporting external audit programs including accreditation and regulatory audits.
And with demand for ISO 27001 Information Security Management Systems Certification on the rise, Southpac's new ISMS Lead Auditor, Perla Chandler, brings her experience to the team as a cybersecurity professional specialising in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC). With expertise in implementing and auditing Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) aligned with ISO 27001 standards, Perla has worked with prominent global enterprises and high-profile government sectors. She has extensive experience and an in-depth knowledge of the Australian Cyber Security Centre's (ACSC) Essential Eight framework, and is highly skilled in cyber risk management, incident response, and compliance with industry standards such as PCI DSS.
Commencing in an administrative support role with Southpac Certifications in 2024, Olivia Pickering has stepped up into the role of Certification Coordinator, looking after clients from the application stage, through to certification and beyond. Olivia's attention to detail and positive energy make her an ideal fit in the Coordination team, alongside Kiri Tareha and Liz Park.
